Bharti Walmart, a business-to-business (B2B) joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and Walmart Stores, is celebrating the Earth Month from 22 April 2012 to 22 May 2012, with green packaging of its products.
As part of the program, the green packaging involves using either recycled materials for recycling, or that the packaging is recycled after use, along with which the campaign involves Green Products and Organic products programs.
Green Products comprises of products wherein the raw materials are either from recycled or reused sources.
The Organic Product category includes production of food items like bulbs and battery cells without involving modern synthetic ingredients such as synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers and is free from industrial solvents, irradiation or chemical additives.
Bharti Walmart Cash and Carry chief operating officer Arvind Mediratta said the chain is committed to sustainability initiatives to save money, while they will continue the efforts during Earth Month and beyond to promote products that are environment-friendly.
